Dried Farmhouse - Muri


Our first offering of a dried strain that isn’t Kveik! Muri is commonly mistaken as a Kveik strain as it originates from the same area as Kveik, has a high temperature tolerance, and can be dried. However it is a hybrid yeast of two species; Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Saccharomyces uvarum. It’s also POF+(capable of producing phenolics) which Kveik is not.

This strain produces nice Belgian fruity like esters with a small touch of phenols associated with Belgian strains. It’s also know for producing rubber or sulfur notes during fermentation but the yeast will clean these up with some time. Like Kveik however, it does like to ferment on the hotter side and can use a hit of yeast nutrients as well.
